Introduction

As part of our research, we investigated locally sourced construction materials commonly used in low-income housing in Dar es Salaam and Ifakara, Tanzania. We examined supply chain dynamics, including how materials reach construction sites and the factors influencing material choices. The houses had varying wall, roof, and window openings from each other.
